INSTRUCTIONS
Fix
- Set the Time Zone switch to your fourth dimension zone (P – Pacific TIme, M – Mountain Time, C – Central Fourth dimension, Eastward – Eastern Time). (See Effigy ane)
- Insert one fresh 1.5V AA battery, noting the correct polarity (+/-). (See Figure 1)
- Automatic Setting: After the bombardment is inserted, easily will quickly advance until they accomplish 12:00. The clock will movement at a normal rate until it receives the signal. The signal may be received as soon equally a few minutes or up to a few days.
- In most cases, the signal will be found overnight.
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS Fourth dimension (DST)
If you lot live in an area that does non recognize DST (Arizona or Indiana), push the DST switch to off. To reactivate, printing the DST switch to on. (Run across Figure i)

Transmission Time SETTING
On rare occasions, the clock may non connect to the radio signal within 24 hours because of the force of the signal or geographic location.
The clock can be set manually and used as a regular quartz wall clock until it finds the radio betoken. When all hands finish at 12:00 yous may accelerate the clock manually. Printing and concord either Manual Set up (M.Gear up) button until it reaches the correct time. When the clock successfully receives the signal, it will move to and keep the proper time. (See Figure 1)
CLOCK LOCATION GUIDELINES
WWVB is the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) radio station in Fort Collins, CO. The WWVB fourth dimension signal will hands penetrate masonry and woods frame buildings. The signal is obtainable in most steel buildings, providing there are adequate windows. Information technology is not possible, notwithstanding, for the signal to penetrate rooms in the center of big buildings that practice not have windows. In buildings that the signal cannot penetrate, you may ready the fourth dimension using the manual fourth dimension gear up push button. When the clock is exposed to the signal, it will automatically set the easily to the exact time.
The clock should not be placed within 5 feet of any items that can interfere with reception: electronic appliances including televisions, radios, microwaves, computers, another radio-controlled clock, phones, or stereos. Large metal surfaces such as aluminum or steel siding, metallic counters, or cabinets might also affect the reception.
The all-time reception will be on a wall most a window that is nearest to the direction of Fort Collins, Colorado. Due to the nature of long-wave radio signals, it may not exist possible to receive a signal during the day, then it is best to install the battery late in the evening.
PROBLEMS OR DIFFICULTIES
In some instances, when the time bespeak is unavailable, the clock movement will continue to search for a readable signal. If information technology cannot discover a bespeak, the movement may stop.
To reset, you must clear the retentivity by removing the battery and inserting the battery backward for five seconds. And then remove the battery and install it correctly. Ideally, restart the clock after 10:00 PM, as the fourth dimension signal quality is generally ameliorate during nighttime hours.
LOW BATTERY Office
The infinitesimal manus begins to advance in ii-second increments when the battery is low. When this status is noticed, replace the old battery with a fresh one. Afterwards installation, let the clock reset itself by receiving the fourth dimension signal. NEVER attempt to move the easily manually.
CHECKING TIMEKEEPING Accuracy
For the exact fourth dimension, call the NIST time and frequency service in Fort Collins at 303-499-7111 or visit their web site at http://www.bedrock.nist.gov/timefreq. If your clock has received a point and has set up itself properly, it volition agree with the time broadcast. Daylight Savings Fourth dimension (DST): If you cull summer time (DST ON), the clock runs the summertime when it has received the DST bespeak. Otherwise, information technology keeps running time unremarkably.
EXTREME TEMPERATURES
The clock will operate in the temperatures range of 14° to 122°F. Temperatures outside this range may impact the performance of the clock.
